I hooked up with Lisa and the Edwards, Colorado group again this evening. Everyone in the group knew Shoshone well. Our familiarity with the run made it easier to succumb to the temptation to repeatedly take that "one last ride" on the waves, even though dusk was fast approaching.
By the time we got to the takeout, it was completely dark. Paddling with almost no light through Maneater, Shoshone's final rapid, was quite interesting. This is the latest I have ever been on a river, and I will definitely not paddle so late on a run I am not familiar with.
