Breckenridge Whitewater Park Lagoon

There is a small pond connected to the Breckenridge Whitewater Park.
I decided to stop there today and work on some flat water paddling techniques. I am especially interested in developing a flat water cartwheel, with the plan of eventually integrating the technique into my surfing sessions.

The Dagger G-Ride I am paddling is an excellent river runner and surf boat. One of the reasons I have advanced so quickly this season is because of its forgiving river running characteristics.
But the same things that make it good at river running can also play against it when trying to execute certain play moves.

It is not a very slicey boat so it doesn't catch and flip you very often in the river. It's buoyant front end seems willing to take me through anything. But "sliceyness" is helpful when you want to purposefully throw one end of the boat under the water to execute certain tricks. Dagger makes a boat called the Kingpin which is a more purposeful playboat and one of the top choices among competitive kayakers.
I have sat in the 6.2 version of that boat and my fat feet are definitely a bit more cramped because of its thinner more slicey front end, but I would like to try paddling one sometime to see how I like it. Ideally I would paddle my G-Ride for river running big water romps, and use the Kingpin for play sessions and milder river runs. Of course I will probably also need a creek boat for my first runs down Class 5 Gore Canyon.

Savage Snow is definitely going to need a kayak manufacturer sponsor to help keep the kayak budget under control.
