I tagged along with Jeremy Voge on one of the Summit Paddle Club beginner outings today. The water levels were noticeably lower compared to his last run down the Upper Colorado River Pumphouse to Radium stretch. It is a much more mellow day.

Jeremy was able to practice his roll in a flat water section of the river and he successfully executed his first river kayak roll today.

Getting his flat water roll down solid for one lake scene and developing confidence in some frothy Class 3 rapids for the river scenes are the minimum skills needed for his role.
I have no worries about Jeremy's ability to gain the needed skills quickly enough.

Paddle club member Steve (above) now holds the new record for largest kayak to fit inside my Expedition. The tips of his "11 foot plus" blue Lazer touched both the front windshield and back glass when the rear window was closed.

Serious color coordination.

The little guy above seems to be giving thumbs up to kayaking at the Radium takeout as he hangs out by his mother's boat. Matthew's father Tim is a strong boater and he has become a regular paddling partner of mine.

I couldn't resist including the shot on the left, taken of one of the spiffiest kayakers on this paddle club outing.

Color plays an unusually significant role in the telling of the story in Savage Snow. Although pink is not one of the color elements used in the film, I was intrigued to see these strong colors on the river today.

That's a Dagger G-Ride 6.2 kayak and Waterstick Karma paddle in the photo on the left, the same boat model and same paddle brand choices that I have made recently.
