Although not a Summit Paddle Club excursion, this trip came together as the result of people meeting and making plans in the last paddle club outing. The Arkansas River Milk Run is another beginner run similar in difficulty to the Upper C, but at high water some of the waves here were giant and ocean like, crashing over you as you paddle. At very high levels I would call the Milk Run an excellent beginner step up run, exciting but not too scary.

After paddling, some in the group wanted to drive by a more advanced section of the Arkansas River, to scout a feature called Frog Rock and see how it looked at high levels. I accompanied them and got to drive through some amazing rock tunnels by the river. I am pretty sure I will find a way to use these tunnels briefly in one of the kayak segments in the Savage Snow film.
Too cool.
I am sure I will be paddling the section we scouted one day soon, although recent season deaths at Frog Rock was one of the reasons there was interest in scouting it.

NOTE: There is a downloadable video of Frog Rock and it's surrounding rapids available on Paddle Day 32.
