Upper Colorado River at High Water

I am back on the Upper Colorado River with the Summit Paddle Club for my first river day of the new season. There is much more water than normal. It is a bit more exciting than my low water Upper Colorado River runs of last season, but still a fairly easy beginner run.

I was impressed by one of the less experienced boaters in our group who executed a combat roll in a rapid today. Using her success as my motivation, I purposefully flipped myself in the same rapid. It is important for me to jump back on the horse. I am still a little cautious as a result of last season's dramatic and somewhat unpleasant finish.
